Want to cleanse, fight inflammation, bloating and help your body’s weight get back on track during and after the Holidays?

As you are probably aware, inflammation and high glucose leves in the blood are your enemies, they cause cell damage and weight gain just to name a few.

This combination of fruits, vegetables and spices, will help you fight inflammation, high blood sugar levels, combat weight gain, and cleanse your entire system from toxic overload. Especially the liver, which pays a big price when we overeat, drink and consume processed foods.

During the Holidays our bodies have more inflammation, become more acidic and contain higher levels of glucose due to the food (refined sugars, processed food, meat and alcohol) we consume during this season.

 

You can mix it all on a Vitamix or Blendtec blender like I do, or if you prefer juicing it, add the cinnamon, and turmeric after juicing the rest of the ingredients.

This smoothie is super delicious and very cleansing, especially useful during and after the holidays.

Get the ingredients organic if you can, specially the blueberries, strawberries, and lemon. Blueberries and strawberries always make it to the top of the dirty dozen list. Since we’re eating the skin of the lemon you want to make sure it’s organic as well.

Recipe:

  • ¼ Beet root – (If you never eat beets start with ¼ of a medium-sized beetroot instead)
  • 1/4 of bundle of Cilantro (keep the stems)
  • 1 small piece of Ginger (I love ginger, you may want to use half of what’s in the picture if it’s too much for your taste)
  • 1/8 lemon with skin
  • ¼ or ½ apple
  • 3-5 strawberries
  • Blueberries a hand full
  • 1 tsp. flaxseed
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. turmeric (or liquid)
  • 10-12 oz. of Water
