Thyroid, Adrenal and Digestive Issues

Thyroid issues are very common among men and women these days. Stress is a common and major factor I see constantly in our practice that affects thyroid, adrenal and digestive health.

Many conventional medical health practitioners look at the thyroid in isolation from the rest of the body. This results in people getting thyroid medication right after a thyroid panel has been done, to support the lack of hormone production by the thyroid gland.

In the majority of cases of thyroid dysfunction such as low production of thyroid hormones, Hashimoto’s, etc., are  just symptoms of some other underlying health problem happening in the body.

It’s very common to find adrenal issues in people taking thyroid medication. A lot of times the adrenal glands are fatigued, and are unable to properly signal the thyroid gland to produce the amount hormones required by the body. It’s also common in our practice to see people that take thyroid medication and don’t feel any better than before starting the medication.

Sometimes treating the adrenals is all that is required for the thyroid gland to function properly and produce the right amount of hormones. The medication for the thyroid gland can be reduced or eliminated once the adrenal glands recover completely, which depending on where the client is as far as the stage of adrenal fatigue, can take a couple of months or longer.

What seems to be a common denominator in people with thyroid dysfunction are digestive issues. The digestive system plays a major role on how the thyroid hormones are utilized in the body. If a person has digestive issues, there’s a good chance that the conversion from the inactive form of thyroid hormone (T4) to the active form of thyroid hormone (T3) that happens in the gut (it also happens in some other organs) is being hampered by the digestive problems.

Taking a holistic view the body allows to determine the root cause of thyroid, adrenal and digestive issues, instead of just managing the symptoms.

I receive plenty of information from Source to understand what is happening in our client’s body. This valuable information helps determine the root cause of the Thyroid, Adrenal, Digestive and additional health issues. It also allows the body to initiate a true healing process, instead of just addressing symptoms, or disrupting the delicate endocrine and digestive systems, and ending up taking hormones or medication for life.
